　UEC Postdoctoral Researcher Program-Announcement of
Opportunity for FY 2010

　The University of Electro-Communications (UEC) invites applications for postdoctoral researchers for fiscal year 2010. The program is targeted for excellent young researchers who have just recently obtained their doctorate degrees, and it is designed to cultivate creative researchers who would lead the future academic researches.

３．Eligibility for Application

Applicants must have the eligibility for applying JSPS* Postdoctoral Fellowship Foreign Researchers for FY 2010, and also satisfy the following conditions

Before applying for this program, prospective applicants must confer with their host faculty members of UEC and obtain their consent with regard to research plans and other relevant items.

Applicants must be either those who have not been selected as JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship Foreign Researchers for FY 2010 in spite of having applied for it, or who are planning to apply this particular JSPS fellowship. In either case, applicants must have the endorsement from those faculty members of UEC who are willing to host the applicants.

The host faculty members must indicate their assurance that the UEC postdoctoral researchers thus accepted in this program will apply for JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship Foreign Researchers within one year of their employment.

４．Start of employment

April 1, 2010 or later at the earliest possible date.

５．Terms of employment

Up to March 31. 2012 for two positions, and up to March 31, 2011 for one position.

６．Condition of employment

(1) Work day: Five days a week (30 hours per week).
(2) Salary: Approximately 2,000 yen per hour, commutation allowance is provided.
(3) Insurances: Eligible for Workmen’s accident compensation insurance, Social insurance, and Employment security insurance.
(4) Annual amount of 480,000 yen will be provided as a research fund or transportation allowance for those living in overseas.

７．Documents required for application

Applicants should submit the application form for JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship Foreign Researchers for FY 2010, to UEC through their host faculty members. Those who have not applied yet should make the same document.

January 22, 2010 (Fri) 17:00 sharp

９．Selection

Selection will be made based on the documents submitted and other relevant materials. The result of the selection will be notified to each applicant through the host faculty member in the early part of February 2010.
